Sports-Themed Nursery Ideas

Decorating your baby’s nursery to match your favorite team or sport is a fun way to celebrate your two favorite things. You might be surprised by the variety of sports-related baby decor that’s available. I’ve even seen a bassinet shaped like a football. It brings new meaning to the old term “A bouncing baby boy.”

Sports-Themed Baby Blankets

There are baby linen sets that have a sports theme, like the adorable GEENNY All-Star Sports set, which would work well for a boy or a girl’s room, since the base colors are pretty neutral. For a girl, i would emphasize the reddish color behind the soccer ball, and use that for wall paint. there’s also the  Super Sports Crib Bedding and the Playoffs  Crib Bedding sets, both by Lambs & Ivy, an online vendor whose products are REALLY well made and adorable.

Sports Decor for Baby Girls

Sporty girls don’t have to be cheerleaders, but cheerleader decor for baby girls is available. You can find pink soccer, pink baseball and pink football decor. there are plenty of Pink Baby Sports Themed Items available online and in baby stores

Team Baby Decor

You can find baby clothes with your team’s logo, just by visiting their website. You can also try eBay and other online bargain shopping resources. I’ve seen a craft activity where you take a child’s Tshirt and cut a half-moon shape from the bottom, then add a few snaps, and it turns into a baby onesy-type romper. You can use that method, combined with a few kid-size sports shirts to make your baby a whole wardrobe of team clothes.

Hang team shirts, pennants and other memorabilia up on the wall
Make a quilt of team shirts for baby’s bed
Paint a mural of the team’s logo on baby’s wall
See if the team has licensed their image for an area rug.
Most teams have licensed stuffed bears and other mascots that can be used in decor.
