Removing Old Wallpaper
I found several resources for removing old wallpaper. Apparently there are several ways to remove wallpaper glue.
The Frugal Life has a nice page that begins with a reader’s question and several different answers detailing how other people have found success removing wallpaper paste and taking off old wallpaper.
eHow has a step-by-step tutorial on how to remove wallpaper glue, that highlights the ’soap and water” method in detail, with pictures and video.
essortment has an article about removing old wallpaper that also shows several methods for removing the wallpaper and the glue or wallpaper paste that binds it.
Here are the basic methods I came across for removing wallpaper paste
1. soap and water
2. fabric softener
3. heat gun
4. steam
5. Aquagel
Either way, you’ll need a scoring tool (a fork works) and a scraper, plus absorbent towels or shammies to protect the floor.
